I used to get wonderful, helpful, friendly people who could actually speak to someone if they didn't have the answer I needed. Evidently Doheny's has now switched to off shore "customer service". They can only read the same information that I can access off the website. I have some more detailed questions regarding opening a saltwater pool and was told to order an opening kit that specifically states "for chlorine pools only"! When I pointed that out, I was told that they cannot give any technical information and that they can only assist with orders and, that they cannot connect me to anyone who might know or be able to assist me...I guess I'll be looking for a different pool supply company. Would very much prefer to continue supporting a more local company, but that's the way it goes....Report

Horrible customer service!! I placed an order for a $650 replacement burner tray for my Raypak pool heater. I placed the order after hours online and received confirmation. I will admit that it was my fault that I ordered the wrong item by mistake. Mistakes happen. However, as soon as I received confirmation, I went online and attempted to contact the company in order to cancel the item so I could order the correct one. They were closed, which was fine. I used their live chat feature, however, no one ever came online to assist me. Their hours of operations stated they were open at 8 AM. I called the next morning at 7:50 AM and contacted a representative named Daniel. I told him I needed to cancel the order I placed overnight so that I could re-order the correct item, which ironically enough, was just over $1000. Daniel told me he was unable to cancel the order because it was listed as “in warehouse” and that a tracking number had already been established. I told Daniel it seemed incredibly unlikely that FedEx had already picked up a ground shipping item overnight, and that the item could probably be canceled if he simply made an attempt to contact the warehouse. I told him I was going to be ordering another item, which was much more expensive, and they would benefit from my next order. I explained to Daniel that I just simply did not want to hassle with receiving the wrong item and having to ship it right back for a refund. Daniel told me the only other option was for him to request a reroute through FedEx. However, that would cost me $18. Really? It hasn’t even left your warehouse yet and you’re going to charge me $18 to have FedEx “reroute” it back to you. Daniel said the only other option was for me to ship the item back once I received it. I again tried to convince Daniel that it was very highly unlikely the item had already shipped out since I placed the item after hours and was contacting them directly upon opening for business the next day.Report
Daniel told me he would put me on hold and asked if I could wait a few minutes for him to research it. Ironically, and to my surprise, when I was on hold, I received an email from Doheny‘s stating “congratulations, your item has shipped.” Seriously?! Maybe it was a coincidence, yes. But I just can’t help but think Daniel insured that the item was listed as shipping so that he could state that there was nothing they could do about canceling my order.
I reviewed my tracking number the following day, and it stated the item was received by FedEx at 4:25 PM, which was eight hours after I spoke with Daniel. Now I have to wait for this package to arrive, take it straight back to FedEx or UPS, and pay to have it shipped back in order to receive my refund.
Complete BS. So be very aware when you order from this company that your order is exactly correct because there is absolutely no chance of canceling or adjusting your order after it has been placed and you will be responsible for the shipping charges. Obviously, if you place an order overnight when they are closed and call them directly upon opening they will claim that the order is already in process and shipped even though it obviously has not so you get hit with the ticky tack shipping charges.
Needless to say, I placed my $1000 order for the correct burner tray through a different online company. Sorry Doheny’s, you have lost a customer for life over a lack of support and seemingly unwillingness to work with your customers.
I have tried multiple times to get this company to stop sending a catalog. Now I'm getting TWO of them. If I EVER have a pool, I will not use this eco-UNfriendly place.Report
Cancelled order 5 minutes after placing it, they kept 30% of my money after talking 30 minutes to their outsourced Indian customer service, will never use again.Report
On Sat 4/15/23 I made 3 online orders in the amount of $39.18 and $57.18. They were for Hayward parts. Their website stated that they would deliver Hayward parts the next day. On Monday I called and realized that the address was incorrect. The customer service rep said it was not a problem as the parts had not shipped yet and the address could be changed. I then canceled one of three orders. I told him if there is going to be a problem, I can cancel all the orders and reorder them with the updated address. He assured me that this would not be a problem. ON Tuesday 4/18/23 at 1703 hr I received a call telling me that the order is coming from the vendor and they did not let the vendor know so it will be going to the original address. I was given a tracking number and it stated the item was not picked up by USPS. For the second item, they would not give me a tracking number. I believe it was not even obtained at this point. Even if it was going to go to the wrong address it should have been there already. I want my money back for a product that was not sent out on time, and I never received. I was not delivered the next day as the website stated.Report
I did not want them since they could not be delivered as promised. IF they know they could not deliver it on time the website should not fraudfully say it can.

Terrible company! As you can see 2.8 on their google reviews. I would not order anything from them, ever again. I think shipping was delayed so I've had it 12 months and 5 days. I ordered a ProDrive AG robotic cleaner 12 months and 2 weeks ago for $350. It doesn't work this year and we took very good care of it. Stored inside since Oct 1st. Their response is it is no longer in the warranty period ( yep, 2 weeks out of warranty ) , there is no troubleshooting, no parts department and no repairs can be made. Your out of luck sir! I'll buy another one but not from these people. And I'll buy a new cover and years supply of pool chemicals but I'll find a better source. I'd give half a star if I could.Report
Pay attention to the Google reviews and do not order from this site, I ordered a three pace anothe an plack chemical which turned out to be on backorder. They charged me immediately. Three months later it is still on backorder. I sent an email to cancel the order, they reply I needed to call. I checked their website and they had single packages of the same Chemical in-stock (nearly the same price ... a couple of cents different). I emailed back and suggested they send me three single packs. No. I need to cancel my order and place another. I finally call and cancel. Three plus months later and I have nothing. There is a reason they have more 1 star reviews than five star reviews. I wish I would have checked earlier. Very frustrating. Many pool suppliers online. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this one.Report

I ordered the pool cover not the true size like that product described, immediately contact them , followed they requested to return it, ( even I paid for extra shipping fee $50) but they just play the game refused to refund the whole amount. Every time phone in they always told you the supervisor will contact you soon, but never got response!!!!
