We had a lovely stay! Come party on the paddle barge guys! Thanks for everything!Report
Ok... I have to be honest about this. My Husband and I were married at this place. The home itself could be lovely. It has the bones for it. Our room was the honeymoon suite. It was cute but the curtains were full of dust. LITERALLY FULL. Also, they were pinned up. Really bizare. We were to have a drink on arrival. It was some low quality brandy. Ugh... We had to carry our own luggage up the stairs. The breakfast, which was supposed to be homemade, was boiled eggs, muffins, old breakfast bars. You get the picture right? The day of our wedding, the host was there to assist. I dont know why she was there. She did nothing. We had champagne for after the wedding, she had no glasses set up. My Husband had to go upstairs and get them himself. There were no plates, or utensils for the cake. It was a dissaster. That's not all that happened. Needless to say, we were very disappointed and left the next day. Sad that the host knew about the wedding and never went that extra step to make it special. My advice... just say no. I would not want another couple to go through what we did. Sorry Grand Victorian. You need to work on quality and really practice being a good host. Also, when you say you're a bed and breakfast, make an effort! Don't feed your guests horrible food. They pay a lot to stay there!Report

My husband and I visited NOLA for the first time and had an incredible experience! Our stay at the Grand Victorian served to enhance our vacation. Bonnie, the innkeeper and staff welcomed us warmly and put out breakfasts with fresh fruit, tasty hot entrees and an assortment of yogurts and cereals. We stayed in the beautiful Shadows room with its Old World charm. The high ceiling room is beautifully decorated, and the bed quite comfortable. After a full day discovering NOLA my husband and I would spend tranquil evenings at the upstairs balcony with a view to St. Charles Street.Report
The location is terrific. The streetcar line to the French Quarter is literally right across the street! And the return on the streetcar leaves you right in front of the Grand Victorian! It cannot get more convenient than that!. Bonnie helped us with streetcar passes, restaurants, sightseeing, and a wealth of useful information. On our last evening in NOLA Bonnie recommended we eat at Muriel’s by the St. Louis church (another must see recommended by Bonnie) and was pleasantly surprised at how great the food was! If you eat there you have to visit the Séance Rooms upstairs!
The Grand Victorian is highly recommended!
We were delighted with the authentic Garden District setting for our elopement wedding in the front parlour. We stayed in the Nottoway room which was suitably grand. Bonnie and her staff were very helpful and considerate. It felt like a real home from home. Perfectly located for the streetcar, Magazine Street bars and restaurants, Lafayette Cemetry and historic mansions.Report

My husband and I have been staying at the Grand Victorian Bed and Breakfast for a number of years now....usually during Jazz Fest. Staying there has never failed to be a very special part of our visit to New Orleans. The lovely bed and breakfast, the beauty of the Garden District, the convenience of nearby restaurants and sites of interest, the easy access to the streetcar, along with the warm hospitality provided by the owner/proprietor (Bonnie Rabe) and her staff have made this our permanent choice of a place to stay in NOLA.Report
