Avalon at Poplar Creek Apartments

"They ripped me off when we moved out! I had lived there for only 3 months including our 2 weeks vacation period. Before we moved out last March, the maintenance people came to our apartment on the wrong day they had informed (this was illegal, wasn’t it!?) and left the very expensive cleaning charge estimation. When we moved out, we spend all day to clean the house and we even used professional cleaning machines and supplies as well. The day after we moved out, I walked through the apartment with the maintenance guy and he revised the original estimation because he agreed the apartment was clean enough not to hire the contract cleaners. However, 1 month later, I received a bill of over $300, which is even more expensive than original estimation. They charged us the contactor cleaning, which we was told they did not need, carpet cleaning, other cleaning and maintenance fees, and even a new toilet cover! I have filed clam with the proof of the copies the maintenance guy revised the estimation because of the move-out condition and asked them to reevaluate the case. Then, they said that they could only discount $40 and we had to pay the rest… They said that I deserved to pay the amount because I did not take any pictures of the condition we moved in. I have never charged ANY cleaning charge from previous apartments/house because we always made the places cleaner than before. I do not say anything when we moved in the Avalon apartment even it was not clean apartment. We did not expected high standard for the place, and we did not say anything because it was only 3 months temporally stay. However, staying there turned to be the worst renting experience ever and I do not recommend anybody to live there!!!!!! "
