Boardman House Inn Bed & Breakfast

Beautiful place right in town by the Opera House. Very nice breakfast. Near a meadow park for bird watching.

my husband and i were looking for a place to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary, and didn't want to go too far and spend the time traveling. we stumbled upon the Boardman House, and thank goodness we did ! the home is impeccably clean, and so beautiful. it's an older renovated mansion, but it feels so bright and modern !!! we stayed in the Garden Suite.... it was quiet, clean as a whistle, and very romantic. our own entrance, our own sitting area with a nice large flat screen TV !, and a gorgeous, quiet back porch all our own. perfect ! the Inn owner, Mia, is a joy !!!!! sweet, interesting, hard working, and just lovely. her breakfasts were delicious.... french toast 1 day, blueberry pancakes the next... both served with real maple syrup ! excellent. we enjoyed it so much, we will return to celebrate the 6th year, too :) thank you, Mia, for just an incredible, relaxing 3 days, and all your recommendations ! Staying at the Boardman House Inn is always a joy for me. It's always so nice, clean, and comfortable at the Boardman House. It feels like your stepping into a highbred home thats completely unique. The furniture, paintings, and decorations are classy. The owners are so friendly and welcoming. Its always a joy to chat with them and learn interesting facts about the house and surrounding area. They're lovely. My favorite part is the restful sleep I enjoy during my visit to the Boardman House. Comfortable beds and a peaceful environment makes this a relaxing stay everytime. Also of note is how close the Opera house, airport, river park and La Vita restaurant, which is where they have live music in the evenings. All of these are walking distance. I recommend a stay here and I hope you enjoy yourself as I do.

Visiting the Boardman House Inn is always a retreat to remember. After multiple visits, getting to know the beautiful host, Mia, and her family has been a wonderful experience. There is consistently a sense of warm hospitality at this B&B, luxurious rooms, and a comfortable backyard to relax in, all while incorporating a classic Swedish design. Sitting in the historic district of East Haddam, the property is quaint and within walking distance to restaurants and the famous Goodspeed Opera House. Anything else you could possibly need is just a short drive across the scenic swing bridge. Would definitely recommend a stay at the Boardman House to all friends and family.

Boardman House is a nice place to stay, Mia, the owner, was as gracious as can be and the old house is really kept up nicely, cozy beds, nice country breakfast, highly recommend

Beautiful home nestled in a perfect quiet location. Everything was a short drive away. The Boardman House Inn is warm and inviting. Breakfast every morning was prepared with love and we enjoyed our conversations with the innkeeper Mia. We will be back for sure!

We have stayed here many times and it is consistently excellent. The house has been restored with great love and care and the rooms, each with their own personality, are always clean and well appointed. The breakfast is fantastic and Mia always offers a wonderfully personal level of service. I highly recommend it!

My boyfriend and I had the best time at the Boardman House Inn last weekend! We stayed in the "French Room" which included a lovely private entrance and the coziest interior. We were pleasantly surprised by the fireplace (electric but still amazing!) and the beautiful garden outside our room. It felt like a fairytale!! Conveniently across the street is a super friendly wine store where we were given great advice about wine and the restaurants in the area. The town is also super cute and perfect for a calm getaway. Our breakfast the next morning was super delicious and exactly what we were hoping for! Mia, the inn keeper, is super friendly and I hope to see her there the next time we make it up to Connecticut. Highly recommend!
