About Elicia Arwen, M.A.

Elicia Arwen, M.A. has been involved in the field of psychology since 1992 as a student, dream consultant and practitioner. She is passionate about counseling and the basis for everything she does is based on the belief that every one has the ability to heal and grow by tuning into their own innate wisdom. When life becomes challenging, however, this “tuning in” can be difficult and individuals lose their connection with their deep selves. As a psychotherapist, Elicia helps individuals find healthy paths back to their unique ways of self-knowing. Elicia provides a safe environment for self-examination and develop treatment to best suit an individual's needs and personality.

Elicia began my undergraduate studies at the University of Houston then enrolled at the Naropa Institute in Boulder, Colorado where she received a B.A. in Contemplative Psychology with an emphasis on Jungian Studies. She engaged in graduate studies at the Institute for Transpersonal Psychology and received an M.A. in Transpersonal Psychology as well as a Certificate in Creative Expression.

Services Elicia Arwen, M.A. Offers

Psychotherapy happens on many levels—emotional, behavioral, cognitive, archetypal,
spiritual and transpersonal. I like to think of psychotherapy as a journey towards greater health on one or all of those levels. The journey is unique for each person depending on when and where they begin, and who they choose as a companion. As a companion, my task as the psychotherapist is to serve your process as is needed and appropriate. I create a safe space for your journey, am a witness, and a teacher of life skills (i.e. communication, development of healthy cognitive and behavioral patterns, as well as tools for anxiety reduction, goal setting and achievement). In our work together we will discover and manifest creative ways to approach life's challenges, and assist you in the process of dealing with trauma and loss.

I offer an initial fifty-minute consultation free of charge during which time we can get to know one another, discuss your reasons for considering psychotherapy and decide if we will work well together. Further appointments are seventy-five dollars for fifty minutes.

I do offer a sliding scale for individuals who qualify.
