Crowne Plaza Englewood

The carpets were a bit dirty, and the AC wasn’t working well. I asked for help and I don’t think it was ever fixed since the AC never cooled the room. Staff wasn’t the friendliest.

Great stay here this weekend! Daniel was super helpful while checking in and gave us some great recommendations! Everything was clean & pool was nice! Rooms were slightly dated but totally fine and comfy.

This is very nice Hotel. It is conveniently located across from New York City. I am looking to staying at this Hotel again.

Even though the Crowne Plaza can use a few updates, this hotel is the best option if you need to go to Columbia University or the hospitals in the area of upper Manhattan or Washington Heights area of New York. If traffic is light, it is only a 15 minute drive over the George Washington bridge. Another nice feature of this hotel as you were allowed to use the professional gym that is right next-door.

Positive: Location and cost. Negative: Swimming lessons taking place so I could not enjoy the pool ¿¿ Breakfast not included? 2 dollars forcoffee??

This was our third time staying at the Crowne Plaza. We were in town because I was having a medical procedure, and I wouldn’t be able to drive back to NC. So, my husband and our dog were with me. This is one of the few hotels in the area that is “pet friendly”. The location is also conveniently located close to family and friends. Rooms are always clean and comfortable. We had an issue with the A/C in the room, which was fixed promptly!

I want to take this opportunity to recognize Jacquelyn Dimeglio for her outstanding service. She has been so attentive and always on point. It is because of her that the past months have been stress free when our guys our working in the NY area. We have made the Crowne Plaza Englewood our home away from home. Thank you Jaci you are the best.

Before we entered the building we heard loud rock music and saw a lot of people just hanging around outside and inside the building that did not appear to be guests. Perhaps, they were, but several had sleeping bags and some where sleeping in the lobby and on the grounds.



That was just the beginning.



Next my hearing aids fell into the hole on the bedside table. When I shined my flashlight down to see if I were able to retrieve them, there were several used condoms surrounding my hearing aids. We called the front desk and a serviceman removed the bedside table and removed my hearing aids from the used condoms.



Next, there was a 5 alarm fire on the floor above us that required several different fire stations to provide trucks to help.

We were lucky to have our car and sat outside on the COLD December middle of the night for several hours.



When we were allowed back into our room it smelled like smoke. There were loud fans out in the hall to dry the carpet that was wet from the fire hoses from the floor above. We requested to be moved and the next room was NOT any better.



All of this the night before I was to be admitted to a hospital in NYC the next morning for a craniotomy for brain aneuryms.



And we had to pay for our room with all of this nightmare happenings!

Positive: Excellent customer service. Great location. Closed to NYC. Negative: The elevator is slow sometimes.
