Awful service. I called at 1:20 pm and was told the wait would be 30-50 minutes. 60 minutes later, I couldn't wait any longer and had to Lyft to my appt. I rescheduled, and was told they'd be there in an hour (3:20). At 4:19, I finally called and was told the ETA would be an additional 30 minutes. They charge a $49 cancellation fee, and quoted me at $130 for a simple jupmstart. Absolutely horrible service, and ridiculous pricing given the horrible service. Call literally anyone else.Report
Such a bad experience I'm quite surprised this company has been open for 10+ years as their Google search result boasts.Report
Long story short: 2 hour wait for an ETA that was originally "just 15-20 minutes." Miscommunications between dispatch and tow driver. $250 for a 3 mile tow. Uncooperative dispatch operator, unprofessional tow driver, and condescending manager Victor.
Actual long story:
Our tire popped on a busy road in Oakland and we needed a tow to our mechanic which was less than 3 miles away. It was Thursday night and we called for their tow service at 8:30pm. An hour later, I called again to ask for the tow driver's ETA the dispatcher told me the wait would be 15-20 minutes. After waiting in the dark for 45 minutes, I called again for an update and was reassured that it would only take 15-20 minutes longer, the tow driver's last job was running longer than expected. That turned into another 45 minutes standing in the dark without any kind of notification from dispatch, and when I rang their number a 3rd time for an ETA they had disconnected the line for tow service calls.
By 10:30pm the tow driver came, and he seemed surprised to be towing just our 2006 Prius. Apparently, dispatch had told him his next job was a multi-car accident, so he had come out in a very large yellow flatbed tow truck. The tow driver even called my number (which he received from dispatch) to confirm we were his next job as he really had been led to believe he was towing a completely different job. Once he finally got our car on the truck, he turned to us to confirm our charge: $250 for a tow less than 3 miles away from our pickup location.
The tow driver called dispatch to confirm our card information for payment, and twice this person incorrectly entered our card information and address. After the second failed attempt he insisted that he would not try again because he did not want to enter in our information all over again. Exasperated we resorted to having to withdraw cash to pay the driver as the person on dispatch was being uncooperative.
The driver did not give me a receipt. He was a younger man barely over the age of 22 and his even younger sister was sitting in the backseat of the tow cab with a baby in a carseat. Guess they had the kids running the business that night!
A couple days after the tow, a representative from Roza called me for feedback on their service. When I told her my negative experience, she reassured me a manager would get in touch to discuss. 3 days went by and no call back.
I call again to get in touch with a manager. The person on the line gives me a reference number for our service and the contact info for their manager Victor. When I call him and try to explain what happened with our tow, he interrupts and speaks over me, trying to convince me that another tow company had intercepted us that night. I tell him that can't be possible, as his tow driver had called my cell phone number (which he received from dispatch) upon arrival to confirm we were his next job.
Again Victor the manager interrupts and speaks over me, saying he'll gather some information and call again a couple hours. A whole day goes by and I hear nothing from him. I call him again and he insists that nothing can be done, that without a receipt or our card information that nothing can be done. I ask him to confirm the price of our tow: $250 for less than 3 miles. He insists that the price is right as the hourly rate is $125 for the large truck.
So he's charging us for all the time we waited around for his tow truck, under the impression that the wait would "just be 15-20 minutes." And on top of that his tow driver is too young to conduct business properly and give out a receipt after taking payment. And he didn't get our card information because his phone operator was too lazy to type our information out more than two times. And when I bring all this up he tries to convince me that it was a completely different company that served us!
Don't bother with Roza Roadside and find another tow service when you need help.

This is the first and only review i've ever posted but this is next level good-guy-stuff. Dead battery (what? i just had it checked!), he jumped me *AND* drove with me to the autoparts store to help me buy *AND* install a new battery. I was on hold for many long minutes with other national hotlines -- this fella answered my call right away and zipped down to help me. Seriously, thank you so much!Report
I highly recommend Roza Roadside Assistance. I called about a jammed car door handle. The operator was able to resolve my issue without a visit, free of charge. I was so impressed with his honesty and integrity that Roza is now my go-to for all of my roadside assistance needs.Report
Good guy, knows what he is doing, professional, on time, good price. No wonder he has all 5 stars. He towed my van conversion from downtown Oakland to Dublin for half the price of others. This guy is the real deal.Report
