Phinney's Local Grocer

Hands down best independent grocery store I've ever been to. The selection, attention to detail, and hospitality of the owners are bar none. I only wish I lived nearby!

It is always great to see Jordan's high-school friends succeed, especially in culinary. How much better it is when stores are small and personable, the vegetables are fresh and the food is from local vendors. Glad to see this addition to Steve's Meat Market. Jordan says he'll come and say hi whenever he travels back from his personal place in LA.

A total local gem. While we don't make it up there as often as I'd like - every time we do it's magic. From locally sourced products to food you can't find anywhere else, this is one of my most favorite shops. The owners are amazing and so knowledgeable. Absolutely everything they sell has a story. You can't go wrong picking up some Rancho Gordo beans and local produce, or grabbing a jar of pistachio butter (worth every penny and a GREAT unique host gift). Phinneys is truly the perfect spot for any foodie.

What a great new addition to Newtown. A wonderful selection of fresh and unusual foods, personal service, and Steve and Gayle couldn't be more welcoming. We go every chance we get and also enjoy many of their Thursday night pre-ordered dinners.

The definition of what a grocery store should be! Phinney's curates a selection of provisions like no other. Their local produce is always fresh and super high quality, and their dried & packaged goods have been blowing our minds good. It's so nice to go into a shop where the purveyor is carefully selecting awesome products and there isn't 1 million brands to choose from. Every single product I've purchased from Phinney's has been "wow delicious" - from the farm fresh milk & eggs to their chocolate bars and teas. I went in this weekend to purchase everything needed to make homemade pasta. Recognizing I was clearly a newbie in this arena, Stephen guided me through the process and we had a great time chatting about ideas. He even offered to let me borrow his pasta cookbook! The passion and love the Phinney's team puts into their work shines through in all that that they do. Can't wait to go back!!

Stopped in to grab something from the butcher and discovered Phinney's. Grabbed an order of appetizers and they were incredible. Can't wait to try the full dinner next week.
