Johnny Was is a California brand designing clothing for the woman with a bohemian spirit. Inspired by our travels, artisan-techniques and cultural handicrafts, we offer detailed embroidery, relaxed silhouettes and effortless dresses and separates, as well as a curated collection of accessories and gifts.

Located in Kansas City's premier, Country Club Plaza, our newest boutique boasts floor-to-ceiling murals of local wildlife and blooms, like the White Hawthorn Blossom and the Eastern Bluebird, all painted by the incredible, Chris Lord. Combining retro style with modern motifs, this fabulous space has been designed with white oak and marble tables, vintage over-dyed rugs, and natural linen curtains. It's the perfect backdrop for our collection of signature statement pieces and luxury layers.
