Dreams for Kids empowers at-risk youth and those with disabilities and inspires them to realize their full potential and to serve as active members of their communities and citizens of the world.
Our vision is to unite children of disability, race, religion, and socio-economic background and inspire them to realize their full potential and serve as active members of their communities and citizens of the world.
At the core of our programming is the empowerment of youth who live in poverty and those with disabilities. The heart of the approach is reminding each young person they have something to give, and then giving them opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others.
The purpose is to break down the barriers of segregation, embrace the abilities and potential of an isolated population, and empower them by their paying it forward in such a way which changes their communities and transforms their lives.
Program activities for youth and adults include: Holiday for Hope, the world's largest holiday event for homeless and underprivileged youth; Extreme Recess, the first of its kind adaptive sports program for kids with disabilities; building local and global service projects and workshops through Dream Leaders; and through partnerships with local businesses and their employees.
