I wish I would have researched this place more before I took my addict father here but I was told it was the best from a source I considered reliable at the time (big mistake). When I first brought him there he was heavily under the influence of cocaine and heroin, the counselor told us to take him to Lakeview medical hospital first to detox before they would take him BUT NOT BEFORE having him fill out and sign all their paperwork first which unknown to me at this time was a promise to pay the full amount regardless of completing the program ($15,800) so they had him sign away his money while he was under the influence. They promised to pick him up at the hospital afterword and take care of everything, they did not, I had to pick up my father and take him, they also told me I would be kept in the loop at all times, I wasn't. The Ark didn't do a single thing they told me they would do, I left thinking I had made a mistake leaving my father there, obviously he felt the same way, he called me two days later saying nothing but negative things about the place saying he was leaving. We then received a letter from a collection agency representing the Ark demanding payment in full for a $15,800 bill. Again he was there for only two days and he signed those papers while under the influence of heroin and cocaine. we are fully willing to pay for the 2 days so I called and was told we signed and would have to pay the full amount, I was told very smugly by the person on the phone "we always collect". Trying to collect the full amount for one month after providing only 2 days of service is 100% unethical to say the very least. These people do not care about anything but money, I bet they make most of there money from their lawyers and collection agencies. so do your loved one a favor and take them somewhere else.
