Men in many cases are unaware of the condition or that there is treatment options such as testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). In general, men are reluctant to see any form of regular medical exams until well into their late 40's or early 50's. Usually they seek exams only if they have trouble with erectile dysfunction (ED), depression, or cardiac event.
Often their primary care physician will only treat the symptoms with an SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) for depression, Viagra (or similar medication) for the ED, and blood pressure/cholesterol medication for their cardiac event. In some cases the real underlying issue is Low T.
