Welcome to Floripa Brazilian Grill, we are extremely excited about our newest venture into the fascinating world of Southern Brazilian Cuisine. The name for our restaurant is taken from the most fantastic and vibrant city in Southern Brazil. Florianopolis or “Floripa†as it is warmly called by the locals is the capital of the state of Santa Catarina, it is also one of only three island capitals in all of Brazil. "Floripa" is called "a ilha da magia" (the island of magic) by it's people and anyone that has visited this splendid paradise will surely agree. We invite you to explore our site and learn about this magical city and explore it's fine cuisine.
One of the most popular dishes in Floripa is the “Churrascoâ€. The Churrasco was originally imported into Floripa from the pampas, or prairie ranchlands of Southern Brazil in the 17th century. “Churrasco†is the Brazilian version of the Texas BBQ. However the Churrasco is much more than your average barbecue, it is a unique style of cooking that dates back over 300 years when the first European settlers colonized what is today Rio Grande do Sul. Today we use a modern version of a Brazilian grill with sliding skewers. This modern and sophisticated system allows each server to carry a number of different meats, each on it's own skewer. This system allows a continuous flow of meats onto guest's plates. We also have a full menu featuring Steaks, Chops, Fish and Seafood.

Add ReviewWe went there on Father's day with a party of 11 and had a great time. They were exremely busy, but still managed to serve our table in reasonable time. 10 of us had the "rodizio' and my wife had the Salmon. We had to wait about 15-20 minutes for our meal but they kept us entertained offering us appetizers from the grill (chicken, sausage etc) untill our meal arrived. Another plus was that they had live music for Father's day, this was a pleasant surprise. This was my second time here and look forward to our next visit.Report
I'm not sure exactly what happened with LUIS butReport
Hi Luis, I'm sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with the service provided by Floripa Brazilian Grill. By reading some of your comments I am going to assume that you ordered the "Rodizio", the Rodizio includes all the meats on the "churrasco grill" plus soup and the salad bar. The soup is served first and then you serve yourself at our salad bar, when the waiter brings out the rice, beans, fried bananas, french fries etc....that is his key to start serving you the "Rodizio". It usually starts out with smaller cuts of meat, such as Chicken, Turkey wrapped in bacon, Sausage etc.......this is considered an appetizer in Brazil, then the other cuts of meat are served. If you did not want any particular meat all you had to do was say so, and your request would have been adhered to. Again I apologize for your bad experience and look forward to serving you again under better circumstances.Report

I was there last week with my wife and we had a real good time. The first waiter we had (short blond/red hair) was very bad. IT seems he diden't want to be there. Like he was doing us a favor by serving us.... He was nimmediatly replaced by a much nicer guy that did a great job. My wife had the steak with onion and I had the rodizio. Everything was good. However, the salad bad was really sad. It needede more items. etc. The restaurant is nice and beats going to Newark. I'll go back.Report

The food is ok. Little bit salty. The service for the first waiter was bad, he was so nasty. The second waiter was better. They have to train their people for the service.Report
