About Kellymusicworks

Pianist and educator Gene Kelly has been involved in music since the age of seven. Studying classical piano and singing in his school choruses were the beginnings of a life devoted to musical performance and later musical education. While completing his BA in Psychology at Bucknell University, Gene was a member of the Bison Chips - Bucknell's A Cappella Ensemble, then moved to Boston enrolling at Berklee College of Music, completing a Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance. Private studies with renown jazz educator Charlie Banacos helped deepen his improvisatory style. Further studies at The New England Conservatory of Music helped refine his musical teaching skills where he received a Masters of Music Education. Gene went on to teach music for thirteen years in the Massachusetts Public Schools and was consulted to start the first a cappella group at Salem State University - the Salem State Soundbites. He now runs his own business teaching studio voice and piano lessons.

More About Kellymusicworks

I've been teaching since 2000. I get satisfaction sharing my joy of music with others. I am comfortable teaching people how to play or sing and/or how to get a great sound out of the piano or their own voice. The satisfaction of seeing students' sustained progress and witnessing their excitement led me to start Kellymusicworks. I enjoy working with all ages of students, helping them discover their own passions and introducing them to new realms of music
