The Louisiana SPCA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promote, protect and advance the well-being of Louisiana's companion animals. As the oldest and most comprehensive animal welfare organization in the state, the Louisiana SPCA impacts more than 59,000 homeless and companion animals annually. For more than 130 years, the Louisiana SPCA has been committed to service the needs of the people and animals in the community and across the region as a 4-start Charity Navigator rated nonprofit ranking in the top 1 percent nationally.
As part of our mission, we offer a multitude of services to the New Orleans Community. Through New Orleans Humane Law & Rescue, we provide animal control and cruelty investigation services for Orleans Parish. Our Community Clinic offers low-cost, affordable veterinary services including low-cost spay/neuter for pets in our community. We are an animal shelter that offers adoption services for domestic companion animals and many more services, including lost and found, humane education, youth programs and more.
