Lost Lands is an environmental tour company that takes people into the heart of Louisiana's coastal wetlands. Dense cypress forests and marsh once existed in and around New Orleans, but coastal erosion and subsidence have destroyed much of that ecosystem. Now the only way to explore this beautiful, ecosystem is by boat or kayak.

We created small tours so we can take you into the heart of this mysterious, dying land and give you the full story behind their creation, the life and culture they sustained, and the reasons for their tragic decline.

Lost Lands tour guides have extensive wetlands experience and knowledge. They include a two-time Pulitzer Prize winning reporter who covered Louisiana coastal issues for 30 years, winning awards from the National Academies of Sciences and Columbia University; the producer of the only television series on the subject; a university professor and avid kayak enthusiast; and a former forest ranger who is an experienced environmental educator.
