George Edgar Anderson, Jr. MD

Dr. Edgar Anderson has been in practice since 1991, on staff with Associate’s in Women’s Health since 1996, and has successfully expanded his OB/GYN practice since then. He is licensed in both Tennessee and Georgia, seeing patients at both Gunbarrel Road and Battlefield Parkway offices. Dr. Anderson attended Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia and graduated with distinction, BS, Biology, in May 1977. He was a Cadet Lieutenant and received the Daughters of American Founders and Patriots award for academic excellence. He was a captain in the United States Air Force from August 1977 to August 1981 at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Georgia. He attended the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia, graduating in June 1987. His residency was at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine from July 1987 to June 1991. He received his American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1991. Dr. Anderson is a member of the American Medical Association, Southern Medical Association, Tennessee Medical Association, and Georgia Medical Association. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of Hutcheson Medical Center and past Chief of Staff of Hutcheson Medical Center.
