CCPS is committed to providing the best service possible and giving our clients a competitive edge. Certified by Visa/MasterCard in 2007, we are nearing our third anniversary. Our Headquarters are just outside of Augusta, Georgia, with clients as far away as the California coast.

In the infamous industry of Card Processing, we have found that if we deal on top of the table with everyone, saying what we’ll do and then doing it, strong relationships are inevitably formed. Our clients’ confidence level, having been built upon trust and integrity, insures longevity.

We offer Credit Card Processing, (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover), POS Equipment, Custom Gift Cards, as well as Check Service.

We characterize ourselves as having the most personalized relationships with both our agents and merchants possible. Maybe it’s because we have the best agents and merchants in the country!

We work with Sales Agents, Referring Partners, Independent Contractors and Community Banks, as well as directly with individual merchants.


The owners of CCPS come with a wealth of experience, each in different, but complementing, and very key fields:

Mark Hofilena, CEO, began CCPS in 2007. Mark began as an Agent in the card processing business in the late ‘90’s. Instead of following the pack and only focusing on the comfortable Restaurant and Retail markets, his interests also went toward Lodging, Petroleum, Supermarkets, Internet/Mail Order, and Wholesale Business-to-Business, including those accepting GSA Purchasing Cards. “I’ve found that so few people know how to correctly set up the unique industries and the merchants usually end up paying too much for their processing.” Our agents are trained in the Interchange, various industries types, and POS options. Merchants rarely put the flow of their companies’ money into the hands of an unsure Agent.

Jimmy McCollum, VP Service Operations, came on board in 2007, with a background in the behind the scene areas of Technical Support and Customer Service of Card Processing. Jimmy heads up the department fielding every question from “Can you help me understand this part of my Statement?” and “Can you see if I double-charged my customer on Tuesday?” to “I have an error message on my terminal!” Service Operations also oversees the downloading, installing, and training on terminals.

Ray Mundy, COO, joined the team in early 2008. He brings expertise in Customer Relations, Management and Business Development. With background in Software Development, he is a natural with POS Systems, specializing in Dining, Hospitality and Golf Course solutions. Ray completes the team, overseeing the “organization within the organization”.

Merchant Services
Granted, the Card Processing Industry is a complex one. It begins with The Interchange Tables. These are the prices set forth by the Associations, (Visa and MasterCard), charged to the merchants for the processing of card transactions. There are hundreds of line items, each based upon Risk Factors and Costs involved, (such as Rewards Cards, etc.). Cards will cost different amounts, depending upon the Industry, as well as the specifics of the entry, (Swiped or Keyed-In, as well as how much information is provided?).

This is why it is imperative to set up the account correctly from the beginning. Below are different Applications and a bit of info about each.

Retail – Repair Shops, you can process transactions as quickly as is needed. Whether a traditional stand alone terminal utilizing a phone line or on a high speed IP Connection, we have your solution. Are you really in a hurry? Ask us about the Quick Service Program; the customer leaves without having to take the time to sign the receipt, freeing up the time to be waiting on the next customer. Quick Service Program is available to specific industries.
Retail with Tips – Return to Top
This Application obviously allows the merchant to take tips. Typically used by Salons, and less expensive to accept Rewards Cards than trying to get by on a Restaurant Application, solely because a Tip Line is needed. Available on the Omni 3700 line, Nurits and some Hypercom terminals.
Restaurant Do you have an eating establishment with servers? You’ll be able to keep up with individual servers and adjust tips. Are you not interested in a tip line? Are many of your transactions under $25? Is the time spent at the terminal important? Ask us about the Visa/MasterCard QSR Program; the customer leaves without having to take the time to sign the receipt and you’re waiting on the next customer.
Mail/Telephone Order/Internet – Return to Top
CCPS supports a full line of terminals able to prompt for AVS (Address Verification Service), Invoice/Purchase Order and CVV2 (Card Verification Value). This ensures that merchants meet the best interchange qualifications on their key-entered transactions. Whether using a stand alone terminal or a Virtual Terminal on your own PC, you can be confident of the correct setup.
Business to Business – Return to Top
As more and more businesses choose to use their Business Credit Cards for all purchases, wholesalers must now accept cards. As the merchant processes Business, Corporate, and Purchasing Card transactions, additional information such as invoice number must be entered in order to cost as little as possible. This information is known as Level II Data. If you are regularly accepting business cards and you aren’t prompted for Invoice Number, you are paying too much.

Do you have separate departments and multiple checkout lanes?

You may qualify for the Supermarket Program with rates lower than when using a Retail Application.
Lodging/Auto Rental – Return to Top
In Lodging as well as Auto Rental, the merchant many times “Pre-Authorizes” the customer’s card, thus insuring the validity of the card. The merchant also has the ability to charge the card, should the customers change their minds at the last minute, without bothering to inform the merchant.

Let’s say, for instance, that a motel owner wishes to try to beat the system by asking for a Retail Account, making Rewards Cards go in at significantly less cost. There will be no pre-authorization option, as everything will go through as straight Sales.

If that merchant is set up with a Retail Application, and the word Motel, Lodge or Inn is in the name, The Association will make many of his transactions downgrade, costing significantly more than if it had been done correctly in the beginning. If a merchant is priced incorrectly, it will always cost more in the long run, (not to mention the possible fines levied from Visa and MasterCard for submitting fraudulent information!).

Utility Program – Return to Top
Anyone who provides Electricity, Natural Gas, Water, Heating Oil or Sanitation is eligible for the Utility Program. All that is needed is verification, then we can begin saving you significant money. If you aren’t currently accepting cards as payment, you will be amazed at how quickly your customers will become Current with their accounts, as the result of being able to put it on cards!

CCPS is fully trained to be with our merchants every step of the way, as we go through the qualification process. It isn’t difficult, but many Merchant Service Providers aren’t familiar with the program.
Public Sector – Return to Top
Going hand in hand with the Utility Program, Municipalities can take full advantage of card payments in the areas of Transportation, Bridge & Road Fees – Tolls, Courts, Fines, Bail Bonds and Taxes – ad valorem and property. In uncertain times, cards may be the solution to keep the revenues flowing!
Petroleum/Pay at the Pump – Return to Top
CCPS has the ability to get through the volume of paperwork needed, in order to correctly setup a Petroleum Merchant. Systems such Ruby, Gilbarco and Wayne are all certified on the BuyPass platform.

We can also process Fleet cards. Merchants can easily establish processing for Wright Express (WEX), Voyager, Fuelman and MasterCard Fleet Cards as part of the same set up process. Customers frequently ask to use Fleet cards at retail merchants like auto repair and parts stores.
GSA Purchasing Cards – Return to Top
Do you currently sell to, or have contracts with the Federal Government? Are the transactions costing you an arm and a leg? Unlike the Level II Data required for regular Business Purchasing Cards, GSA Level III Data includes more information. Without this info, processing costs will always cost significantly more.

Many Agents have never heard of GSA Cards. We have merchants who are properly setup and reaping the rewards. Before our relationships, they had not heard of the Level III Data. Either the agents simply didn’t know, or were making significantly more money at the merchants’ expense. Either reason is unfortunate for the merchant.
