From a nice Italian lady who’d previously run gelato spots in Europe, Yes is a counter-service pasta-ry where you combine your own noodles, sauce, and add-ons; the joint feels a bit like a hip Mediterranean country house, with blue and white accents, homey seating, and a little coffee/sandwich bar up front where you can “grab & go”, although this time you won’t be sent to juvie for it. Choose from rigatoni, fettuccine, penne, gnocchi, spaghetti, and linguine (all available whole wheat and gluten-free), then get wacky with their roster of sauces, like Gamberi & Asparagi (sauteed shrimp, asparagus, cherry tomatoes), Carbonara (egg, bacon, black pepper, Parm), and Flaminia (a yellow peppers cream sauce named after the owner), and add-ons like Parm, mozz, gorg, provolone, broccoli, chicken, shrimp, or meatballs, but no Meatballs II, because despite all the John Larroquette, they suck. Non-pasta includes the Venezia panini (smoked Norwegian salmon, cream cheese, caramelized onions, mixed greens), the Affettati plate (cured meat selection of Parm prosciutto, salami & mortadella served with flat bread), and the Portofino Salad with soy dressing over grilled ahi, avocado, and palm hearts.

For drinks, it’s beers (Peroni, Corona) and a reasonable selection of wines, and they’ve also got a little market area selling gourmet goods imported from Italy like a collection of preserves (sun-dried tomatoes, pears, walnuts, white fig), coveted olive oils from Sicily and Tuscany, and from Sardinia, high-end honey.

"I am Italian and have been looking for good Italian pasta in Miami for so long that I thought it would have been impossible to find some... then I found this new Italian restaurant which serves authentic Italian pasta! It's quite a nice place, it reminds me of the isles of Sicily for the colors. You choose what kind of pasta and the sauce you like more, including some of the most well known Italian recipes (such as "carbonara", "arrabbiata", "alle vongole") and then order at the counter and get served at your table. For dinner, you sit at your table and order. The quality is amazing and the prices are quite reasonable. Definitivey worth to try!"

"I ate at this restaurant with some friends and it was a real surprise! The location is very nice, I was expecting the usual Italian restaurant with tables with checkered tablecloths .. none of this: the atmosphere is very trendy and the owner, a very kind Italian woman, explained us why the concept of this restaurant is new: you can choose the type of pasta, sauces and the additions .. you can practically build the pasta dish that you want to eat .. fantastic! The quality of pasta is superb and even the appetizers and desserts are delicious. Next time I’ll try salads and some more proposals ... oh yes I’ll be back for sure, it’s unusual find a restaurant where food is very good and prices are quite reasonable .. finally something new in Miami!"
