"Having lived in Germany for eight years many years ago, we were ready for authentic German food. We have dined there several times each winter and are never disappointed. We always make sure we have reservations because they are always busy."

"Visited on a Saturday evening, and there were only about four other tables occupied. Service was unacceptably slow (took 50 min. to get entrees). Staff seemed to know the other patrons, and we felt mostly ignored as the staff spent much time visiting and talking with the other tables. Food was alright, but not up to usual standards of a good German restaurant. Maybe the kitchen was concentrating on the other tables, as the chef spent much time in the dining room visiting his apparent friends. My wife's entree was listed on the menu as coming with roasted potatos, but came with cold potato salad (although I did get the roasted patatoes). Soup was good, but my meat was tough. Overall we felt like we were intruding, insteading of enjoying a good German meal. Too bad, as Fort Myers could use more good German restaurants."

"The food is relatively fresh but the women cook seems horrible to her employees. service was very slow and my schnitzel was thick and overcooked. never again. I hope her employees run far away if they haven't already. The woman reminds me of the soup nazi."

"Always in favor of locally owned restaurants, we visited last Saturday evening and have made reservations to go back again tomorrow. The food is FRESH, cooked and created on the premises and served elegantly for a more than fair price. The portions are large, the menu authentically German and Austrian prepared and served by the owners, Helga and Helmut--delightful hosts...It is fine as any European restaurant we have visited on our trips to that continent--truly a great find for us. My husband says to try the beer Helmut suggests from Munich. We enjoyed the sauerbraten and pork roast last week...dumplings and kraut and red cabbage were delicious as was the homemade asparagus soup. Can't say enough good things about this establishment...small, quaint-- probably best to make reservations as we will do from now on. "
