America is failing its children when it comes to education. This is evidenced by the fact that over 30% of students drop out of high school each year. This is not just a problem for parents, teachers and schools. This is a problem for society and the nation as a whole!
In spite of the statistics, we can do something about it! The Community Learning Center is a non-profit tutoring organization that was founded in 1998 with the simple but powerful idea that active, informed and trained citizens working closely with local schools and classroom teachers, can effect change. What began as a small location in Clearwater, has grown into a network of affiliate organizations serving five counties including Pinellas, Hillsborough, Polk, Broward and Lee.
In 2013, we are moving to our new 7,200 square-foot facility located at 1411 N Fort Harrison Avenue. In this new Center, we will be to increase the number of kids we serve from 50 kids/week to over 300 kids/week!
