Eco-Mulch is Mulch guy's naturally dark brown/black, natural looking mulch. Eco_Mulch is created by being placed in large piles that heat up by virtue of the composting process that develops in these large piles. As this material is weathered and turns a very dark color. As the wood fibers break down this creates an opportunity for microbes to start decomposing the wood fibers. This means that when you get Eco-Mulch you get a product that is both weed seed free from the heat created and has a high concentration of fine organic components created during decomposition. When Eco-Mulch is applied to your landscape or garden beds the ongoing breakdown of the mulch helps to provide for future creation of topsoil and enhances whatever type of topsoil you already have in place.
Eco-mulch as well as our other mulch products provides good weed control when applied correctly. You should prepare the area to be mulched so that it is weed free and then apply it thick enough to prevent weed growth. In a landscaped area it should be 4” thick.
