North Colorado Medical Center's roots go back to 1904 when The Greeley Hospital was opened.

Over the years, the name changed to Weld County Hospital, Weld County General Hospital and then to North Colorado Medical Center in the mid-1980s.

NCMC is a fully accredited, private, non-profit facility licensed to operate 378 beds.

It serves as a regional medical center with community-based and specialty services in a service area including southern Wyoming, western Nebraska, western Kansas and northeastern Colorado.

Located in Greeley, 50 miles north of Denver and 50 miles east of Rocky Mountain National Park, NCMC has grown to become the largest hospital provider in the region. NCMC also has community care clinics in Eaton, Greeley, Johnstown and Windsor.

North Colorado Medical Center professionals are nationally recognized for excellence in many programs such as burn and trauma care. The cardiac program was recently recognized as being in the Top 100 in the country. Additionally, NCMC is home to a highly-rated cancer care program and Cancer Institute. Designated as a Level II Trauma Center, NCMC has provided a medical air transport service to the region since the early 1980s and now has two helicopters available for patient transport.

State-of-the art technology such as Banner iCare and a telehealth program offers extra monitoring of NCMC patients in intensive care units. The hospital also offers robotic surgery which can lead to shorter recovery times for surgical patients. In addition, North Colorado has an intelligent OB program, designed to reduce the chances of complications during labor and delivery.

North Colorado Medical Center and Banner Health-Greeley employs 2,900 people and has over 250 active staff physicians. More than 400 volunteers generously donate their time to the hospital.
