Napa Valley Aloft Balloon Rides

If we could add stars we would. It was an amazing experience. Our only concern was the ride to the secondary location was longer than we were told and quite twisty. If you have trouble with motion sickness; pre medicate. But, the secondary location had no fog and was absolutely beautiful. Well worth the price and experience!! The crew involved was amazing also! You’ll be well taken care of.

The balloon ride was great, the pilot was also great. This is not my first hot air balloon ride and so I have something to compare this ride with Napa Valley Aloft to. I was a little disappointed as I thought the ride would be going somewhere, to another destination, as was my experience with the other balloon ride. This one, however, just pretty much when up and down for about 45 minutes. I don't know if the wind, or lack of wind, caused us to be pretty much stationary or if this is how they always operate. I think the ride was a bit pricey for just going up and down, so if you're looking to actually move to a different destination as the landing destination rather than just float up and down I would inquire with them if that is their normal operating procedure to not really go anywhere and if it is I would recommend looking into a different company that allows the balloons to take a trip so you're moving rather than just up and downing. Other than that, the staff were great. There is a trip to the actual balloon destination that takes about 30 minutes and is quite windy - so if you get carsick I'd recommend taking Dramamine prior.

Aloft left no question unanswered when I was planning this trip and provided tips in the confirmation email as well. The pre-flight pick-up breakfast was substantial with plenty of warm beverages, pastry and energy bars. The welcome crew was very accommodating, answering last questions, providing security warnings and taking pictures. My personal tip: If you are planning a winter journey, wear your warmest socks and booties; the hot-air blasts keep your head and torso pretty warm, but your feet do grow cold. I have been trying to describe how ballooning feels – you are in the air, but there is hardly any wind (I only felt it when ascending or descending to find the optimal current); your feet are firmly on a solid surface; you are roughly chest-high behind the basket rim with no danger of toppling over. The silence once you reach a couple of hundred feet came as a surprise; add to that the occasions when the current cuts out and you are hovering motionless above the ground in the stillness with the spectacular landscape below you and the fascination of ballooning grips you to never let you go.

My wife and I had the most spectacular and memorable experience. The Aloft Staff was absolutely awesome, friendly, and showed utmost professionalism. A special thank you to Pilot Jim who made our trip amazing and got us to the ground safe and in one piece!

Wonderful experience from start to finish everyone was super friendly and pilot was very knowledgeable about the area and what to expect. Highly recommend it and will do it again.

Cannot recommend this company enough! Perfect way to see Napa, as a person who is terrified of heights I was amazed at how calm and relaxing the whole experience was! Usually I cannot stand being in glass elevators, on tall buildings or cliffs, however being in a hot air balloon was calm, relaxing and beautiful, wish I had done it sooner!
