At Exclusive Collections Fine Art Galleries, we have dedicated and professional art consultants to assist you in choosing the perfect custom framing treatment for your valued works of art. We have our own custom and museum quality framing facility here in San Diego just minutes from downtown. We have full-time art framing professionals on staff.

Whether you are an avid collector of fine art or have an interest in presenting and preserving sentimental family photos or historical documents, the choice of framing materials should be carefully made. It is important to understand what you are paying for and what to avoid paying for when choosing a frame. Understanding how a framing treatment is protecting your art investment or keepsake requires just a few simple ideas.

We've all witnessed the morning newspaper left in the driveway that turns yellow after just one day. This happens due to a reaction of acids within the paper that cause its integrity to break down. Newspapers, old photographs, most documents, and virtually any prints made before 1990 contain these acids because they are made from wood-based papers. These acids, as in the case of the newspaper left in the sun, further speed up their reaction when exposed to UV radiation.

Knowing these basics make it obvious that materials high in acid content such as cardboard, masking tape, and paper matting should never be used in any framing treatment. A competent and professional art framer should be exercising the procedures and using materials that make up conservation framing, or “museum-quality framing”. This means using what is referred to as cotton based archival, or acid-free, materials along with the use of UV blocking glass or Plexiglas if required. Using these materials will prevent discoloration or change in integrity and will decrease fading and yellowing by up to 97%!

While most picture framers “should” have the background to explain these concepts and why they are vital to the preservation and lifespan of a precious work of art being framed, many do not. In fact, many retail framing environments employ people with little to no training. Exclusive Collections Galleries provides professional installation services to both residential and commercial clients.

Exclusive Collections Galleries will handle and install your works with the utmost care and attention to aesthetic detail. Whether you would like your art collection in your office or home, our art consultants and installation team will work to ensure that your art is not only safely secured with the same techniques and hardware used in the finest museums, but that also you are pleased with the final presentation of the artwork.

Installation services offered:

Art objects, paintings, photographs, posters, framed mirrors, textiles, Objects d′art, Asian screens, wall groupings, large format artworks, gallery installations, artworks in awkward or hard to reach places i.e.; Stairwells, high ceiling, concrete or brick walls.
We help create customized wall arrangements to satisfy your personal taste, and enhance your home or office decor.
We utilize security hardware when needed. This installation system uses locking brackets to secure the artwork to the wall. This system secures the artwork in its proper position, preventing the artwork from being knocked off the wall.
For oversized items and large projects, we have a qualified and reliable team of art installers readily available.
We offer expertise on the placement of sculpture along with custom pedestals, hand blown glass and Objects d′art.

Pricing:

We are competitively priced; generally billing by the hour with a small additional fee for supplies.
An additional travel charge might apply for certain locations.

Appointments:

Appointments can be scheduled Tuesday through Friday or other times by request and upon availability.
There will be a charge of $100 for no shows or cancellations without a 24 hour notice.

Such structures as brick or concrete walls require advance notice to insure proper hanging materials are available.
Extremely high places may require a team of installers and special equipment.

Let's Paint- Masterpiece Monday

Create an original work of art in collaboration with the finest artists of our time!

For anyone who has gazed upon a work of art with a sense of wonder and admiration, and thought, “how did they possibly do that?” Masterpiece Monday is for you!

Who should attend: “You” collectors, friends, kids and pets are invited.
Where: EC Galleries- All three gallery locations.
When: The first Monday of every month from 6-8pm.
Why: To create a collaborative painting and possibly win it!
How: Step up to the “Artist's Stage” and contribute to an original acrylic on canvas.

Not only do you get to see your favorite artists in action, but you have the rare opportunity to engage in the painting process for yourself in a professional gallery setting alongside our living masters. Whether you are an artist in your own right, or have never picked up a brush in your life, you will take home an entirely new perspective on the art that you appreciate because you know what it is like to put paint upon canvas.
