About

Hot Hatha Yoga is a system of yoga synthesized from traditional Hatha yoga techniques. Classes consist of a set series of postures and breathing exercises. The Yoga is ideally practiced in a heated room with a humidity of 40%. The heated studio helps deeper stretching and injury prevention, while reducing stress and tension. This system stimulates and restores health and circulation to every muscle, joint, and organ of the body which helps in the prevention of heart disease and organ failure as well as detoxification of the body and overall health and well being. The postures are performed in conjunction with Pranayama breathing techniques to enhance oxygen conversion and absorption, as well as improve blood circulation, as in many other forms of cardiovascular activity. Many of the postures massage the lymphatic system and aid in lymphatic drainage, assisting to eliminate infection, bacteria, and toxins. This demanding series of postures (asanas) and breathing exercises (pranayamas), is suitable for all ages and levels of ability. Each posture stretches and strengthens specific muscles, ligaments and joints needed for the next posture. The method also stimulates the organs, glands and nerves, moving fresh oxygenated blood to 100 percent of the body, restoring all systems to a healthy working order. These 75 and 60 minute programs promote total health through the balancing and strengthening of every system in the body in order to prevent illness, injury and limit the effects of aging. In addition, the series of postures combine skills of concentration, patience, determination and self-control, which lead to increased mental clarity and reduced stress. Yoga’s combined focus on mindfulness, breathing and physical movements brings health benefits with regular participation. Yoga participants report better sleep, increased energy levels and muscle tone, relief from muscle pain and stiffness, improved circulation and overall better general health. The breathing aspect of Hatha yoga can benefit heart rate and blood pressure.

Heated Vinyasa Flow Yoga is the alignment of movement and breath, a method which turns static yoga postures into a dynamic flow. The length of one inhale or one exhale dictates the length of time spent transitioning between postures. Poses are then held for a predefined number of breaths. In effect, attention is placed on the breath and the journey between the postures rather than solely on achieving perfect body alignment in a pose, as is emphasized in Hot Hatha Yoga. Performed in a slightly heated room, Hot Flow is a vigorous and dynamic class designed to challenge the student while receiving all possible advantages of a yoga practice. Attention will be put on breath awareness and posture positioning to help align the body, even as students move quickly in and out of poses. This is a very challenging yoga class that will result in improved strength, balance, flexibility and detoxification through breath and sweat. It includes various sequences, consisting of different forms of sun salutations, vinyasas, focused abdominal work, inversions and arm balances. All instructors will utilize classic yoga postures in an energetic flow, linking movement with breath, and creating sequences that will improve the mind, body, and spirit. Hot Flow Yoga is suitable for practitioners or all levels and ability.
