"reported both problems. The water they said they would send out a plumber (they never did)THANK GOD the smell went away after 2 days of running the water. The cabinets they tried twice to put back on but they kept falling off. Then the carpet started to come up and i mean when it came up, there was a line in the middle of our apartment from where two pieces of carpet came together and the line was about an inch wide from the vacuum cleaner within the first 2 months. When i reported this a manager came up and checked it out, we went down to the office and she put a note in our file saying we would not be held accountable for the carpeting. Then we paid 3 different deposits for our dog. $450 non refundable, 153.46 non refundable and a 87.50 refundable deposit, plus $25 a month for our dog. They constantly hassled us about him. First saying he was vicious (my dog has never tried to bite anyone) and then complaining that other tenants didnt want him going outside because they didnt like him. So we were forced to use puppy pads for over a year. Also we never received a copy of our lease. We lived there for 2 years signing a 12 month, and two 6 month leases. Never received a copy of any of them. When i asked they would say well our printer is broke or so and so has to make the copies or we'll bring you a copy to your apartment when we get a chance. Obviously they never got around to it. Then after almost two years of living there our bath tub started to leak. The maintenance man came up looked at it said everything was fine but within a few hours the manager was at my door demanding to see the damage and accused my dog of damaging the bathroom floor even though my dog was never in the bathroom. A 2in x 2in piece of linoleum was ruined in the corner of the bathroom. They then also told us off for the carpeting which i countered with the fact that the old Assistant Manager told me i would not be accountable for paying and that there was a note in my file. Two weeks later i got a note in my door saying their files were audited and numerous papers were missing out of our file. We finally moved out. June of this year and have just received a bill for 1600+ dollars in damages and replacements. They said we did not pay any security or dog deposits refundable or nonrefundable, and have charged us for the carpeting $335.46, paint to repaint the whole apartment when there was no damage to the walls $200, $200 for 2 doors that accidentally got damaged but maintenance said they could fix no problem. $300 to clean the apartment, $50 to shampoo the carpet they are replacing, $25 for a new door shade, $20 for a new toilet seat. $400 for the 2in x 2in linoleum because they want to replace the kitchen, bath and laundry room. then 31.74 in taxes, $85 in miscellaneous repairs, and 27.36 in utilities. Another thing they make up their own water bills. My water each month was 60-70 dollars at their apartment at my new apartment it hasnt gone past 30 and we are using just as much. They are also very unprofessional i never once went into the office and got treated with respect and i never once went in there and didnt hear gossip about other tenants. Also my dishwasher and garbage disposal didnt work everytime i used the sink the water and food would go into the dishwasher and when i tried to empty the dish washer of the gross water it would run back into the sink.
