Great hotel and very friendly staff. Did many resort activities like lei flower making, beach yoga, seashell coloring, coconut coloring and many more. Room was spacious and well maintained hotel overall. Beach was a short walk from the pool and was small and private.

The only downfall was the breakfast experience. As the hostesses were very nice more than half the servers were extremely slow and not very welcoming. A few mornings we had to be put on a wait for breakfast in a resort. Unheard of. Been to many resorts around the world and have never seen such a thing. Some mornings we had to wait about 20 minutes just to get coffee brought to our table. Unacceptable. There was only one breakfast choice for the continental breakfast for elite members. As it was tasty some variety would be nice for a week long stay.

The resort is a great getaway from winter season on mainland. We were here for 5 days and spent a couple of days or more exploring the resort. The heated pool, jacuzzi, food, accommodation, staff and hospitality is fantastic. Pool view/garden view rooms will give you a decent view of the beach as well. The sunset view is beautiful and the resort makes it worth it by having a storytelling + free drinks event along with it. There are a whole lot of restaurants/food options near the resort and excellent shops/malls. Apart from the resort beach there are some serene beaches not too far from the resort for family time and snorkeling. Local farmers market are not too far either.

Driving to Hilo from the resort is not too bad. The place is conveniently placed and is a good choice for exploring west, north and northwest part of the island. It's not a convenient location for the south (Volcanoes national park), south-east part of the island though.
