Stevan Buren Roofing, Windows, and Flooring

Stevan was very efficient and did a great job on my roof. Very dependable and dependable.

They replaced my roof after a storm when I had some leaks. The leaks occurred a few years later in the same spot and they came out and fixed it. They really stand behind their work.

I stopped in their shop for an odd request for a small piece of carpet like remnants or something like that. The front desk ladies for were more than helpful. They got me to the right people and they were very accommodating and helpful. I would definitely go back to this business for any flooring, roofing, or window needs!

I hired Stevan Buren to refinish my original hardwood floors earlier this year.

The customer service arm of the company was somewhat decent, and the owners were kind.

The execution and quality of the work however was shoddy at best.

They subcontracted the work out to someone else who was sloppy and didn’t even use the correct materials. I requested a custom stain color with three layers of oil based poly sealer. I have kids and dogs so I know they’re tough on floors.

They got way behind on the job and decided to try and catch up they would use water based poly. The first day we were back it became very obvious. Huge gouges and scratches showed up. They came and looked and admitted to using the wrong sealer. They scheduled a time to come back and fix it.

Their subcontracted crew came back and buffed the floor and put oil based on top. The floor immediately began to bubble. You can’t put oil on top of water. They tried to say it was likely a defective batch of poly. They then scheduled a time to come back a third time to do my floors.

The third time they had to sand back to raw wood and restain. This time they did the job correctly, but the work was terrible. There are pieces of wood sealed on top of my floor, there are gobs of what looks like hair in the floor, they didn’t bother to try and keep the stain off my baseboards, etc. I contacted them, they said that’s not like our crews. Sorry. They offered to paint my baseboards but never showed up when they said they would.

At that point I told them I didn’t want them back in my house. We had paid full price for a floor, paid for a hotel stay twice (I made them pay for the third- only after an argument), and been out of our house for almost a combined total of 3 weeks.

I would not recommend them for flooring, which makes me pretty sad because they do a lot of good things for the community.

It’s not been about 6 months and my floors have not stood up at all. There are large gouges all the way to the wood. I told them when they did it I didn’t think they were using a hard cure floor sealant, but I was told I was wrong. Clearly they either didn’t care, or really didn’t know what they were doing.

My previous floor lasted about 20 years, I imagine I’ll have to do them again in a couple of years.

Absolutely nice and knowledgeable individuals..

Don't know anything about them. They may be great. Unfortunately, they advertise at The Cleburne Railroaders games. After hearing their name and a broken glass sound...at least A THOUSAND TIMES...every time someone hit a foul ball...I can say with one hundred percent certainty that I will never use them. Sometimes advertising has the opposite effect.
