I usually go to the Redondo Beach location, but I’ve started to come to the Westwood one because my school is around here. It’s great to see that everyone here are friendly as well, and you can see some familiar faces if you’ve been to the RB location. Great service as always! This dermatology has been a huge help to my skin concerns.

This place was amazing for years . . . but then it sank. Front desk is not very sharp. Here's a quick list of issues: 1. Front desk neglected to properly check me in, then let me sit in the waiting room for 90 min because nobody knows I'm there. (This happened more than once!) 2. Waiting until I arrive at the office to tell me they need to reschedule my appointment. 3. Advertising treatments via email for 3K and then claiming they have never seen their own advertising, then charging me 2X as much. (this is illegal btw and I'm looking further into it) 4. Taking SIX WEEKS to fill my prescriptions after an appointment despite my calling every week to ask for it. 6. Ghosting me in the middle of treatment and refusing to call me back or reschedule the rest of my paid services. I don't know how it is they have high ratings at the top, but if you look a little deeper you'll see I am not alone.

I went here and paid hundreds of dollars for a biopsy and they found an abnormal mole leading to melanoma. Problem is they didn’t bother telling me. Never called, emailed, texted, mailed, etc. A year later I learn about the abnormal result. When I asked why they’d ignore it for a year; They said it was on me, deflecting blame from themselves.
A year later, another dermatologist all the way down in Torrance CA took care of me, and for less than half the cost too! (Surprised because she studied U. of Penn and grad school at Georgetown. I would’ve figured very expensive. She was inexpensive. )
I never reported the mal-practice of this place to the appropriate authority. But I feel it’s more than fair to warn others of my experience at Westwood dermatology.

Conveniently located but you’re getting gouged and poor service. Shop dermatologists around South Bay and you’ll see for yourselves (but you need to be willing to drive at least 30 minutes.)

I felt like my understanding of my situation was disregarded. The doctor was about to inject a steroid to a site I told her was infected multiple times. When she finally believed that it was an infection (pulled up proof from my last doctor) she realized the steroid would not have been a safe intervention. I’m glad I spoke up, but can imagine the negative repercussions, had I overlooked and allowed the potential malpractice. I am frustrated after this appointment, and found a new appointment with a different specialist.

They made me wait 1 hour 30 minutes for my appt. Made me sit naked in exam room for 50 minutes: so I just left! What a waste of time.
