PET+ER began in a small area storefront in 1986 on York Road. It was called The Animal Emergency Center and cared for the patients of local veterinarians after hours and on weekends. As time progressed, veterinarians needed a place to send daytime emergencies when they were very busy. Hence the 24 hour emergency center concept came into being.The Animal Emergency Center began to outgrow the York Road location and moved to Luskin's Hill in 2003. It became known as the PET+ER and enhanced the specialty services to better serve the veterinary community. Today, the PET+ER offers state of the art veterinary care, as well as, old fashion customer service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
