About Nissman & Salin - Oral, Maxillofacial & Implant Surgery

Dr. Michael B. Salin was born and raised in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology.

After completing college, Dr. Salin attended Temple University School of Dentistry where he received his doctor of dental medicine (D.M.D.) in 1999. He was accepted to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery program at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he was trained in the wide-scope of the specialty. Immediately following his residency in 2004, Dr. Salin joined Dr. Nissman in private practice.

Dr. Salin is a Diplomate of both the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Dr. Salin has authored a variety of articles, case studies and was a contributing author to the most popular oral and maxillofacial trauma textbook for his specialty. He has presented both locally and nationally on topics of dental implant therapy, maxillofacial trauma, cleft lip and palate surgery, and distraction osteogenesis.

Dr. Salin practices the full scope of contemporary Oral, Maxillofacial Surgery. He has a special interest in implant dentistry, specifically cosmetic implant makeovers to improve our patients' smiles. He is an expert and educator in the field of full mouth implant reconstruction with immediate tooth replacement.

Dr. Salin takes pride in educating the doctors in our community by teaching and creating educational seminars to advance the knowledge in a variety of medical and dental topics. He is a certified American Heart Association instructor of CPR and Basic Life Support which allows him to teach local dentists patient resuscitation both in and out of their dental office

Dr. Salin is on the staff of many local hospitals, including Temple University Hospital where he has the opportunity to teach Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical residents.

Dr. Salin lives in Lower Gwynedd with his wife Donna, an endodontist, and daughters Samantha and Sydney. When not in the office, look for Dr. Salin on a snowy mountain in the Rocky Mountains where he has a passion for skiing with his family and friends.
