More About Michiana Dyslexia Correction Center

Dyslexia is a generalized term used to describe reading problems. It is a product of thought and a special way of reacting to confusion. It is not limited to reversals of letters and words - a common misconception. In actuality, the mental function that causes dyslexia is a gift in the truest sense of the word: a natural ability, a talent. For example,
dyslexics often have the gift of thinking in pictures, the gift of curiosity about how things work, and the gift of vivid imagination.

My clients have ranged in age and have come to me from many places. I have also enjoyed traveling to work with them from their home locations. This has taken me to many states and several other countries. I am more than willing to travel to work with clients and count it a privilege to do so!

I have also have the privilege of working with some local clients after programming to help them with program follow-up exercises. This has been very rewarding, to say the least! .

Until reading The Gift of Dyslexia by Ronald D. Davis, I thought that dyslexia was caused by a neurological condition which an adult or child needed to work around or endure. But then I learned that dyslexia was caused by perceptual disorientation which can be corrected by using Davis Dyslexia Correction procedures. I eagerly enrolled in training from the Davis Dyslexia Association International (DDAI).

After attending that first training event for Davis programming in August, 1995, I continued to return to DDAI in Burlingame, California, for further training until I was certified as a facilitator by DDAI in April of 1998. During the summer of 1998, I established the Michiana Dyslexia Correction Center to be able to work full-time with the Davis program.
