Joe did our engagement and wedding photos and both exceeded my expectations. Joe has an impressive vision for images and always surprised me when I see the final results. He used many different cameras and even film for some. I had nothing to worry about for my wedding day pics and it was a great stress reducer to have someone super competent. Joe works really hard too for his clients which is apparent when you see him work. We are very happy with our pics and will be booking more for future occasions!!! Thank you Joe.

We are absolutely thrilled that we chose to work with Joe for our engagement, rehearsal dinner, wedding, and post-wedding photography. We first contacted Joe after seeing his work on Instagram. The quality of his work instantly caught our eyes! We were looking for a relaxed candid photography style that’s also classy and timeless! After a quick zoom meeting, we were convinced it was a great match. Joe and his team ensured that we felt totally comfortable in front of the camera. He captured every moment of our big Indian wedding and compiled it into a beautiful album. His light hearted jokes and funny comments made our reception photo shoot totally enjoyable. All you need is Love...and Joe Payne...on your wedding day!

Joe's work, along with his second shooters' work (we were honored to have Richard on our day), is timeless, authentic, classy, and full of deep emotion. From the moment my husband and I saw Joe's photographs, we knew we found the photographer for us. It was also so special that Joe is English and so is my husband.

Joe's talent shines in almost any setting. Our first set of engagement photos was in the rain, but he made them look romantic, using the gothic setting of Duke chapel to draw out some lovely artistic shots. After our wedding postponement due to Covid, we opted for a second engagement session. The use of light during golden hour on UNC campus was beautiful!

On our wedding day (August 28, 2021), Joe captured the emotion of it all. He isn't a cheesy or an overly staged photographer. He stays in the background to let the day unfold naturally. Of course when we did the more formal portraits, he was efficient and prepared. Our families adored his humor and kindness, as he makes everyone feel at ease in front of the camera. The worst part of hiring Joe was when the wedding was over, and the journey came to an end.
