Most everything was as expected for a Holiday in. The bed was way to hard and there were no low power outlets for phones. This hotel NOT been upgraded with modern furniture or the made-for HOLIDAY Inn mattresses you find at newer hotels. Needs to catch up.

Hotel was clean.
Staff was super friendly. You could tell the woman I'm charge of the breakfast truly loved her job. She was super friendly snd helpful to all the guest.
Conveniently located to the casino. We stayed in a suite on 3rd floor. Only complaints 1. No safe in the room. 2. No temperature/thermostat. Heater worked well but it was a wall/window unit. This needs to be upgraded. Everything else was great.

Our initial room smelled of smoke, as did the whole 3rd floor hallway. We notified the staff who moved and upgraded us which was great but the toilet barely flushed and the bed was uncomfortable.

We enjoyed our stay in Cherokee. Hotel is directly across the street from the Cherokee Casino and within walking distance to other restaurants and shops. The room was clean and comfortable. Noise can be an issue as the rooms are not well insulated.
An issue I've run across with several Holiday Inn Express' is the breakfast line. Given the need to social distance and control the flow of people, they need to place the toasters and pancake machines away from the hot food trays. We had to wait an excessive amount of time behind a family making a dozen pancakes and holding up the line. The same happened at another hotel when the line was held up by people making toast.
