I provide warm and highly personalized treatment based on years of both clinical and practical life experience. I have a strong understanding of statistics and research, as well as a former career as an options market maker and additional graduate studies in behavioral economics. This has trained me to evaluate good from bad research, as well as to identify implicit biases that shape our thoughts and decision-making. My practice of psychotherapy is informed by contemporary neuroscientific and clinical research; cultural and gender factors; and the value of having a strong therapeutic alliance with my patients. I am drawn to doing more depth work as a means of helping my patients achieve long-lasting change and personal growth. Also, as a long-time (30+ years) San Francisco resident, I am well versed in the challenges (and joys) of life in the city.
I provide mental health care for individuals experiencing difficult life transitions, as well as people with severe mental health problems.
