About Elite Heating & Cooling

Elite Heating and Cooling is owned by Knoxville native, Chris Waddell. Chris has been helping folks in Knox County “beat the heat” since he originally “fell” into the trade by taking an “Introduction to Air Conditioning” class at West High School as a Freshman. He enjoyed the class and work so much, he stuck with AC tech classes for all four years of high school in addition to going to State Tech to take air conditioning classes there. He loves helping his clients better understand what they need in order to have the right heating and air conditioning solution for their home.

Chris joined Elite Heating and Cooling in 1995 as an HVAC Service Tech and eventually purchased the business in 2002 and became its President (in addition to its lead tech/installer!).

Chris prides himself on helping keep Elite's primary focus on the sales and service of heating and air units for residential customers (90% of his business) and not branch out into other trades like plumbing or electrical as other providers have.

While Chris does almost exclusively take care of residential HVAC customers, he's happy to help small business owners beat the heat too (just typically not massive commercial units).
