Dr. Smith is a native of Baton Rouge, LA. He received an undergraduate degree with honors from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA. Dr. Smith received his medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical School in Shreveport, LA and then completed an Internal Medicine and Pediatric residency at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, TN. Dr. Smith is Board Certified in internal medicine and pediatrics. He has been a clinical instructor for the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Baton Rouge, LA and Our Lady of the Lake Pediatric Residency Program. He is a member of multiple professional organizations and has served on multiple hospital committees.
