The Eastside is a family-owned restaurant on Kauai's East side featuring a fresh taste of Island favorites. “Chef Jonâ€, a native of Laguna Beach, California graduated from Vassar College in New York where he was a Third World history major. His culinary training began early in his father's restaurant in Los Angeles. He spent over 15 years of culinary globetrotting under the tutelage of renowned European chefs, Paul Bocuse and Georges Blanc, and has gained experience in some of the world's finest kitchens since he began his career in the late 1980's. “Chef Jon†has a long list of honors, accolades and awards, including Chef of the Year, Best of the Best, Los Angeles Times Magazine and the highest award of distinction from the Southern California Restaurant Writer Association.
The Eastside Pacific Rim dinner menu features a generous selection of seafood entrees as well as steak, pork and chicken. The exquisite blend of Island flavors include specialties like basil seared Ahi, mochi rice flour dusted fried calamari, Hoisin glazed baby back ribs, Fish & Chips featuring Molokai purple sweet potato chips, refreshing tropical fruit coolers, (liquor license coming soon) and a rotating variety of delectable Crème Brulee for a simply amazing finish. Dinner prices range from $17 to $30 per entrée.
